About Dr. Paul Axtell, DVM & Dr. Kristin Axtell, DVM

Dr.s Paul and Kris Axtell met during Kris’s first week of Vet School at Texas A&M during a school sponsored meet and greet. They got married 3 years later and Paul practiced in Bryan/College Station while awaiting Kris’s graduation.

For the next three years they worked in Dallas and East Texas until they returned to Johnson City, near Kris’s hometown. Their four boys have loved being involved in the Johnson City community, and will carry its values as they navigate their futures.

Paul is deeply committed to helping others through various church and service organizations, namely Kairos Prison Ministry and the Johnson City Lions Club.

Kris laughingly says she’ll sew anything together, and divides her time between doing surgery and helping the Johnson City Quilt Guild.

Both doctors rarely take vacations but love having adventures, think you and your pets are the most interesting part of each work day, and thank God for allowing them to do work they love in a community they love.
